Yet another rhino calf admitted to Care for Wild
Early yesterday morning (January 20) Care for Wild admitted its seventh orphaned rhino calf in less than two months.
Care for Wild Rhino Sanctuary (CFW) received word from the Kruger National Park on January 20 that it had recovered another orphaned rhino calf. Estimated to have been alone for around a week, the young bull calf had been clawed by lions.
“Our newest arrival was spotted in the south and darted by a SANParks vet, Dr Lufunu Netshitavhadulu, before being flown to the nearest gate.

“The calf is estimated to be between 14 and 16 months old and was too large to fly all the way to CFW so the team were deployed to collect him.”
CFW said a special thank you to the Kruger team for again responding so quickly to this orphan in need.
