Croc spotted in Primkop Dam

The MTPA requested that the public keep clear of the cage that has been set up to capture the crocodile.

The MTPA has warned residents who make use of the Primkop Dam’s facilities of the presence of a crocodile.

This follows a Facebook post by a woman claiming to have seen the crocodile in the dam among some hyacinths.

“My dogs swim there everyday. He (the crocodile) also tried to grab one of my neighbour’s farm workers.”

The MTPA has set up a cage at the dam and asked that people stay away from it.

“They mustn’t bother there, and leave the cage. We will give feedback once the crocodile has been captured,” the agency said.

On the dam’s Facebook page, Primkopdam Whiteriver Area, the placement of the cage was also announced and the public was advised to keep children and animals away from the dam until such time it has been secured again.
