Criminals managed to steal an estimated length of 70 metres of cables from the Toyota bus shelter on the R40 in Riverside.
According to the Ward 15 councillor, Thea Rix, the Government Complex, Government Boulevard, Southern Sun Emnotweni, Emnotweni Casino, StayEasy Emnotweni, Riverside Mall and surrounding areas are affected.

“Motorists should expect delays on the R40 due to streets lights not working. It will take almost six to eight hours to get the power back on,” she said.
