Two Ga-Makofane learners found with an unlicensed firearm
After being interrogated by police about the origin of the gun, the two teens failed to provide a positive response and were arrested on the spot.

Two pupils were arrested by the Tubatse police for being in possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition at Sogane Secondary School in Ga-Makofane last Thursday. “The arrest followed after a tip-off.
The police rushed to the premises and upon their arrival, all the learners were thoroughly searched.
This resulted in the discovery of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition that was in the possession of two minor boys,” said the Limpopo police spokesperson, Brigadier Motlafelo Mojapelo.

The two boys, aged 16, were interrogated about the origin, but failed to respond positively and were arrested on the spot.
“Further police investigations will be conducted to determine whether the two minors are involved or positively linked with the ongoing criminal activities which are currently committed in the Tubatse policing precinct,” said Mojapelo.
The two minors are expected to appear in the Specialised Children’s Court at Praktiseer Magistrate’s Court soon, facing charges of being in possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition in the learning environment. Mojapelo said probation officers were informed to give counselling and preparation of the learners for their court appearances.
Police investigations are continuing.
