SAWS has cautioned people that the storms may produce hail and localised flooding, possibly resulting in damage to infrastructure such as low-lying bridges, roads, and formal and informal housing.

SAWS has also warned that the storm could lead to power outages and disruptions to municipal services.

Motorists are urged to avoid driving over low-lying bridges and roads and to be on the lookout for sinkholes. People are also urged to avoid outdoor activities if there is lightning.
