Alleged rhino horn possession case back in Mbombela court next week

AB Steyn, a local, and Limpopo game farmer Dawie Groenewald were arrested in July 2021 for the alleged possession of rhino horns.

Schalk Abraham Steyn, known to Lowvelders as AB Steyn, and Limpopo game farmer Dawie Groenewald are expected to appear in the Nelspruit Regional Court 1 on Tuesday November 22.

The pair was arrested for the alleged possession of 19 rhino horns on July 20, 2021, and after appearing in court on July 23 last year, were released on bail of R50 000 each.

As the case is reaching over a year of investigations, the duo had last appeared in court on June 7 this year, when the matter was postponed so that the cases involving Steyn and Groenewald could be centralised.
