Absolute Pets hosts fundraiser for SPCA

The Walk for Paws was held at Friend's Café on Saturday November 19.

It was a fun and fur-filled day at Friends Café on Saturday as Absolute Pets hosted a walk for Lowvelders and their beloved dogs in aid of the Nelspruit SPCA.

The Walk for Paws event saw over 100 people and 80 very excited dogs show up to partake in the walk.

The event included industry experts such as Bravecto, Rogz, Eukanuba, Lokuno, Adoration Pets and of course, Absolute Pets and the Nelspruit SPCA giving pet owners the opportunity to chat about grooming, training, nutrition and more.

After the walk, many of the dogs went to cool themselves off in the stream at the cafe while others found a shady spot to have a nap.

After a small break for both the pets and their owners, competitions for the happiest dog and the best trick took place.

All the proceeds from the day went to the Nelspruit SPCA.

A committee member, Anmari Jones, said a total of R6 615 was raised.

“We received over 90kg of pet food, which we are very grateful for. Everyone had a good time, including all the dogs. We want to thank everyone who came out to support the cause. We especially want to thank Absolute Pets for organising the fundraiser for us.”
