Female leopard spotted in Marloth Park

Joggers, cyclists and visitors are advised to be extremely careful when moving about in this holiday town.

A large female leopard has been spotted in the Kingfisher, Geelslang and Lyster area in Marloth. It is reported that she was hunting among the houses.

The carnivore team advised everyone in the park to be extremely careful and vigilant, as the leopard has shown no fear for humans.

“Joggers, hikers and cyclists in the morning and afternoon need to be extra careful, and especially at night, as the leopard is a bigger threat in the dark! If you are having a braai, sit with your backs to a wall and keep the lights on.

“Do not allow children to roam around or play unsupervised. The leopard is extremely dangerous, especially where kids are concerned,” they said.
