Thunderstorms expected in Mpumalanga

Heavy rain and hail are expected.

The central and eastern parts of the country can expect thunderstorms over the weekend.

According to the South African Weather Services, the affected areas will be the Northern Cape, North West, Free State,

Eastern Cape, KwaZulu-Natal, Gauteng, Mpumalanga and Limpopo provinces.

These thundershowers will become severe, with heavy downpours, strong winds, hail and excessive lightning. These may result in flooding of roads and settlements, damage to infrastructure, as well as dangerous driving conditions.
