Mbombela residents can now buy prepaid electricity online

The City of Mbombela server's uninterrupted power supply (UPS) was down since Christmas morning.

As many people celebrate a Christmas Day, some residents in Mbombela who are using prepaid electricity were unable to buy power due to the UPS being down. The municipality has confirmed that people can buy electricity.
They are also pleading with the community to be patient in case the system is slow due to congestion of people wanting to buy power.

The municipality issued a notice on Friday, December 23, stating that the UPS server that it is using to issue prepaid electricity will be offline from Christmas until December 27. The municipality also stated that the UPS has been giving them problems for since the introduction of load-shedding.
The CoM stated that due to continuous problems with the UPS system, a specialist has been arranged for next week’s Wednesday (December 28) to resolve the matter permanently.
