Armed robbery at Die Windpomp restaurant in White River

Three suspects got away with an undisclosed amount of cash and sound equipment

Three unknown suspects robbed the Windpomp, a local restaurant in White River, on Monday (December 26) at about 19:45.

According to the owner, Lewies Dippenaar, the three suspects entered the premises by climbing over the fence.

“They were all armed and hit the manager over the head with a gun. They stole an undisclosed amount of cash as well as sound equipment before fleeing the scene. I am not sure what they used as transport,” he said.

Dippenaar also said that no one was seriously injured during the ordeal and there were no customers in the restaurant at the time.

“We have opened an armed robbery case at the White River Police Station and are pleading with the police to assist us in recovering the equipment,” he said.

The White River police confirmed that they are investigating a case of armed robbery at the venue.
