Fetakgomo Tubatse acquires new vehicles to accelerate its services
The vehicles are three Volkswagen Golf 8 GTIs, a Toyota Coaster 23-seater, 10 Toyota Legend Xtra Cab bakkies and three UD waste trucks.
With the aim of improving service delivery to the residents of Fetakgomo Tubatse Local Municipality, a fleet of new vehicles was unveiled at the civic centre on Friday, October 6.
These 17 vehicles will be allocated to key departments to enhance the municipality’s ability to better respond to service delivery challenges.
The vehicles are three Volkswagen Golf 8 GTIs, a Toyota Coaster 23-seater, 10 Toyota Legend Xtra Cab bakkies and three UD waste trucks.
The GTIs and bakkies will be assigned to the traffic department to reinforce a critical need of public safety, while the trucks are expected to collect and deliver skip bins in the rural villages of Tubatse.

“The bus will allow us to save costs. Our councillors and staff can now travel in it to events and meetings. We will save money that was used on monthly petrol claims,” said Mayor Eddie Maila.
“I believe the FTLM is on the right path to creating better communities. The municipality is going to have enough time to respond to queries and for the supervision and enhancement of service delivery,”
Maila said.

The acting municipal manager, Mavis Magowa, welcomed the launch of the new fleet and said the purchase of the vehicles was a positive step.
She believes that this move by the municipality is money well spent and will ensure that services are delivered more efficiently.
The chief traffic officer, Victor Lekwadu, encouraged the traffic officers who will be using the new vehicles to take good care of them. He said they will be able to respond to traffic congestion and arrest those disobeying the laws.
