Man found dead near traffic lights at Mbombela shopping centre

A man, believed to be in his 50s, was found dead on the grassy bank near the traffic lights at the Westend Shopping Centre on Friday morning, October 27.

The man was reportedly known to stand at the robots near the shopping centre regularly, and was said to be known and well liked by a number of people who drove through the intersection of Dr Enos Mabuza Drive and Madiba Drive.

It is as yet unclear what the man’s cause of death is. At the time of publishing, the Nelspruit Police Station’s spokesperson, Constable Bongani Mokoena, said he was still gathering information.

The man’s identity cannot be released until confirmed by the police and his next of kin.
