The Mpumalanga Department of Community Safety, Security and Liaison (DCSSL) warned members of the public not to fall prey to a recent scam concerning traffic officer learnerships.

According to the spokesperson for the DCSSL, Moeti Mmusi, they did not place any advertisements in the media for traffic officer learnerships recently.

“We are appealing to communities and aspiring traffic officer learners to avoid being taken advantage of by shamelessly unscrupulous scammers who will go to great lengths to swindle unsuspecting job-seekers out of cash. We have seen some Facebook posts doing the rounds that there are some traffic officer learnerships. If indeed there are any, it’s not at the DCSSL,” said Mmusi.
