Mpumalanga traffic officer sustains minor injuries on N4 between Mbombela and Cairn

A female traffic official sustained minor injuries when a car bumped into her during a traffic stop on the N4 between Mbombela and Cairn this afternoon, April 1.

A Mpumalanga traffic official from the Mpumalanga Department of Public Works, Roads and Transport was minorly injured when a car bumped into her during a traffic stop on the N4 between Mbombela and Cairn this afternoon, April 1.

The department’s MEC, Mandla Ndlovu, who was at the scene and had been participating in the day’s traffic stop, said it was unfortunate that the incident had happened, but that the officer had sustained only minor injuries.

He said she was directing a motorist to stop on the roadside when the incident happened. Reportedly, another motorist then tried to avoid the first car, and the officer was bumped.

The police arrived on the scene later.
