TS Galaxy coach garners attention of giant teams
Sead Ramovic has built a reputable name and team which has attracted the attention of many PSL soccer teams.
After successfully guiding TS Galaxy to one of their best seasons ever, head coach Sead Ramovic has caught the attention of many PSL soccer teams, including Kaizer Chiefs, who are still searching for a new coach.
Ramovic has been praised for his mentorship role he has played in this young team. Just like the Stellenbosch coach, Steve Barker, Ramovic has built a formidable team without any big names or known soccer stars. He has guided Galaxy into the top eight and almost qualified for the CAF Interclub Football, but fell short in the last game.

Galaxy finished sixth on the table with 44 points and have booked themselves a space in the MTN 8 competition, which is the first cup competition in the new PSL football season. With all the attention he has been getting, the German-Serbian tactician stressed that his main focus is on guiding the Rockets. “I’m the coach for this beautiful club, TS Galaxy. I have a contract, I’m very happy to be here,” he told Robert Marawa on 947, which streams live on Mpumalanga’s radio station, RISE fm.

“Besides that, we all know Chiefs is a wonderful club, probably the most beautiful club in South Africa. But this doesn’t change the fact that I’m happy where I am now and where I stay,” he added.
When asked where the rumours of him being poached by another team are coming from, Ramovic admitted the club’s good season is probably playing its part. “I don’t know, maybe because we are doing a great job with our team now?” he said. “But like I said, we just focus on our club to improve even more and everything else is just the future, because right now, the present is the most important thing. This is where we enjoy a lot with all my players. We have a beautiful time and everything else is just rumours.”

Meanwhile, Galaxy’s two senior players, Vuyo Mere and Bernard Parker, are said to have been offered the chance to form part of the DStv Diski Challenge’s coaching staff in the new season.

Mere (40) has spent over two decades in South Africa’s top-flight football. Last season, he made only one appearance, in the Nedbank Cup, had 28 games as an unused substitute and continued to pick up knowledge under Galaxy’s technical team.
Meanwhile, Parker broke his leg in October 2023, but managed to recover before the end of the season to make an appearance against Mamelodi Sundowns. At the age of 38, he looks set to hang up his boots, which earned him over 70 caps for Bafana, and 23 goals.
