No arrests yet in Magobading headman murder case
The Limpopo SAPS says it is hard at work with investigations into the shooting of a local headman by unknown perpetrators.
The Limpopo SAPS has yet to make a breakthrough in the murder of Magobading Village’s headman, Setlamorago Thobejane.
He was shot and killed by some unknown men on August 7 while he was out walking with his daughter, he to work and she to school.
The suspects, who drove a maroon Toyota Camry without a registration number, approached them and fired several shots, fatally wounding Thobejane, and fled on foot, leaving the Camry on the scene.
He was taken to the nearest hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
The Mecklenburg police have since launched a search for the perpetrators.
The Limpopo police’s spokesperson, Colonel Malesela Ledwaba, confirmed that a murder case is being investigated and as of August 16, no arrests have yet been made.
The Limpopo police commissioner, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, strongly condemned the incident. “I have tasked the team of investigators to hunt down these ruthless killers. We are not going to rest until they are captured so they may face the full might of the law.”
