Three dedicated employees of Samancor Eastern Chrome Mines were honoured for their tireless work and commitment to the company.

Samancor Eastern Chrome Mines recently commemorated a significant milestone by honouring three long-serving employees.

Elias Nkoane, Johannes Serage and William Mokwena were celebrated and commemorated for their 40 years of dedication and commitment to the mine. The achievement celebrated the remarkable contributions of these individuals to the company and the community.

An elated Elias Nkoane.

The recipients were lauded for their unwavering commitment and work ethic throughout their extensive careers. Each employee received an amount of R250 000 from the company towards the purchasing of an LDV of their choice as a token of appreciation from Samancor for the vital role they have played in the mine’s operations.

The vehicles were presented by representatives of Burgersfort Toyota, who also provided snack platters for the occasion.

During the handover ceremony, the general manager, Bertus Brink, and human resource manager, Pieter Brits, expressed their gratitude and appreciation for these employees’ remarkable service.

Nkoane and Mokwena both began their careers with Samancor on July 30, 1984, reaching their 40-year milestone on that day in 2024. Seage started on July 3, 1984, qualifying for the same honour on that day this year.

The trio shared their emotional reflections, expressing gratitude for the recognition and their pride in being part of the Samancor family.

As the ceremony concluded, a sense of camaraderie filled the air, highlighting the strong bonds formed over decades of collaboration and friendship.

The celebration not only honoured these three exceptional employees, but also served as a reminder of the importance of recognising and valuing long-term commitment in the workplace.
