UPDATE: Search for missing Mpumalanga pilot continues

Gerhard Minnaar, the missing pilot, left Nelspruit Airport on Tuesday, October 15 at about 08:30 and has not returned.

The Aeronautical Rescue Co-ordination Centre (ARCC) is still searching for Gerhard Minnaar, a pilot who went missing on Tuesday, October 15.
It launched the search for Minnaar today, October 17. It has been more than 24 hours since he disappeared, and so far no sign of him or his aircraft has been found.

The ARCC’s operations chief, Gregory Critchley, said they will be working with the SAPS Airwing, SARZA (local pilots), and local ground assistance.

Minnaar was last seen at the Nelspruit Airport around 08:30 the day of his disappearance, when he took off in his gyrocopter. He was heading in the direction of Musina. His last visible location was Louis Trichardt.
