SPONSORED | Mbombela, it’s time to make your votes count in DNATel’s school dance competition

Eight schools in Mbombela stand a chance to win R25 000 in DNATel’s schools dance competition.

DNATel is hosting its first-ever school dance competition, and the time has finally come to make your likes count and cast your vote for your favourite school’s dance.
The competition features eight schools from Mbombela: Hoërskool Bergvlam, Hoërskool Nelspruit, Lowveld High School, Penryn, Curro Nelspruit, St Peter’s School, Valencia Combined School and Nelspruit Primary School. DNATel provided a sample video and sound for each school to compile a unique dance, which they in turn recorded and submitted to DNATel. The company will upload each video individually on Facebook and Instagram , and the video with the most likes, will win.

The dance competition is a great community campaign for local schools, through which they can win R25 000 that they can use for upgrades to their school.
DNATel, a fibre network owner in the Mbombela region, partners with various internet service providers to bring high speed, affordable and extremely stable internet connection to residents and business, while building fantastic relationships with the community.

The schools have all wrapped up the producing and shooting of their videos and DNATel is now requesting that the entire Mbombela community join in on the fun and vote for the best dance video to determine the first-ever winner of this competition.

You can cast your vote for the school’s video you like the most by liking their post on the DNATel official pages on Instagram and Facebook.

But what do the schools have to say about why they’re special?
“A few of Hoërskool Nelspruit’s athletes have taken up the DNATel challenge, aiming for the big cash prize that’s up for grabs. While training hard on the field for upcoming athletic meets, they’ve also been practising their freestyle routines for the competition. We’re excited to see how the other competitors rise to the challenge!” Janine Cronje of Hoërskool Nelspruit said.

“The Vlammies are a diverse and talented group that truly burns with pride in all aspects. We are well-positioned to win, thanks to the unique talents the good Lord has blessed us with!” Seema Maha Singh, head of marketing on Hoërskool Bergvlam’s Vlammie Council, said.

Nelspruit Primary’s Luandri Grobler said: “We’ve roped in the learners in our hip-hop and cultural groups for the competition. They’ve really taken to it and made it their own. The children were super excited when we told them about it and they’ve come up with something special. We’re incorporating traditional dances into our dance, too. It’s going to be great!”

DNATel extended a huge thank you to their internet service providers who sponsored the competition: NetMetrix, Cell C, Afrihost, Home Connect, Crisp Fibre, Bulldog, Fimlinx, Clearaccess and Cool Ideas.
