UPDATE: Fuel tanker accident on N4 outside Mbombela cleared

The road was closed for more than eight hours as emergency personnel to clear the traffic.

The N4 outside Mbombela has been cleared following the accident that involved a fuel tanker and another vehicle yesterday, November 14.

The road had to be closed for more than six hours while emergency personnel were removing the truck and also cleaning up the spillage.

According to the spokesperson for the Department of Community Safety, Security and Liaison, Moeti Mmusi, a driver and occupant of the other vehicle in the accident sustained slight injuries. The truck driver was not injured. The cause of the accident is unknown at this stage, but investigations are under way.
