Mbombela’s cooking talents shines in Come Dine With Me SA
Four vibrant locals are set to charm viewers and their fellow hosts with their culinary skills.
Local flair takes centre stage in Come Dine With Me South Africa‘s historic Lowveld debut.
For the first time in its 10-season run, the much-loved BBC Lifestyle series has touched down in Mbombela, where four vibrant locals are set to charm viewers and their fellow hosts alike with their unique personalities and culinary skills.

First up is Caroline Harris, The Old Packhouse Distillery brand ambassador and known Bingo royalty.
With dishes like fresh prawn and avocado salad, grilled lamb chops with chimichurri, and a nostalgic home-made ice-cream recipe, Caroline infuses her menu with elegance and heartfelt memories. The laughs flow freely when Caroline hilariously schools fellow guest Azande on ‘old-school’ handwriting.

Azande Shongwe, a bubbly architecture graduate, infuses her turn in the kitchen with international flavours.
Her globe-trotting theme features highlights like French-inspired hake with petit pois, subcontinental lamb curry, and Italian cannoli with her signature twist – all served with flair in her Lowveld home.
Bringing her signature no-nonsense approach is Zubeida Essack, a spirited tax consultant with a love for hearty cooking.
Her menu, featuring biltong and cabanossi salad, a customisable chicken pasta dish, and a refreshing yoghurt dessert, keeps the atmosphere lively and festive, even as her bold flavours spark spirited debates around the table.

Closing out the Mbombela celebrations is financial adviser Wynand Visagie, who draws inspiration from the city’s rich bushveld heritage.

His tropical-themed soirée, ‘Island Style in the Bushveld,’ dazzles with fresh sushi prepared tableside, a succulent lamb main course, and a marula-infused crème brûlée, showcasing South Africa’s unique culinary identity.
As the locals vie for the R10 000 prize, their blend of flavours, stories and Lowveld pride promises to keep audiences entertained.
