Three arrested for attempted murder in Mpumalanga
A woman was shot in her right hand during an attack at her home in Mjejane. She was hospitalised and is recovering.

Two law enforcers allegedly attached to the City of Mbombela and a former SANDF member have been arrested for the attempted murder of a woman in Mjejane on Friday, March 21.
According to a Mpumalanga police spokesperson, Lieutenant Colonel Jabu Ndubane, a 45-year-old woman was approached and her house vandalised by about nine people with pangas, rocks and other objects.
“The woman recognised the two law enforcers from their work at the City of Mbombela. One of them allegedly pointed a firearm at her, threatened to kill her and forced her to get into a bakkie. The second allegedly grabbed the firearm from his colleague and shot her in her right hand. She was taken to the hospital and is currently recovering,” Ndubane said.

She said an attempted murder case has been opened with the Komatipoort SAPS. “A probe was conducted leading to the arrest of the three suspects. Two firearms were confiscated from one of them. Thus far the investigation has revealed that one of the weapons is a state firearm and one is licensed for private use.”
The suspects are expected to appear in the Komatipoort Magistrate’s Court on Monday, March 24, facing charges of attempted murder and contravention of a Protection Order. However, Ndubane said the police cannot rule out the possibility of adding more charges against the suspects as the investigation continues.
