SPCA Nelspruit in dire need of animal food

The SPCA Nelspruit urges the community to make donations, since it can't keep up with the expenses for taking care of all the animals.

The SPCA Nelspruit urgently appeals to the public to donate any animal food as they are running low and more animals are being taken in.

The branch’s chairperson, Lize Pienaar, said the centre appreciates the food already donated, but it is not enough to feed the increasing number of animals that are housed there.

“We know times are tough, but if you can spare even a small donation of wet or dry food for cats, kittens, dogs and puppies, it would mean the world to these innocent souls. Together, we can make sure no bowl goes empty and no tail stops wagging. From the bottom of our hearts we thank you for caring,” Pienaar said.

The SPCA can’t keep up with the expenses for taking care of all the animals.

“We really need the assistance of our community to feed the animals. If we have to spend a lot of our money on food every week, we will not be able to assist animals in remote areas. Our fuel account is between R25 000 and R30 000 per month. We cannot help the animals without the support of our wonderful community members. Please assist us. Without the SPCA, there will be no assistance for animals in need,” Pienaar said.
