Lowvelder employee in accident in Mbombela
Only one driver was taken to the hospital for medical treatment, while the rest were treated at the scene.

A Lowveld Media employee escaped unharmed from an accident involving three cars on the R40 near the Mbombela Showground on Wednesday, April 2.
According to Bertus de Bruyn, who was driving from Riverside towards Arrow Park, he noticed another vehicle parked on the side of the road and slowed down.
“However, another vehicle came out of nowhere and crushed my car, which went spinning. I kept my hands on the steering wheel to make sure that I don’t lose control. When the car finally stopped, I pushed the Tracker panic button,” he said.

De Bruyn said he was lucky to have escaped unharmed, although his car was damaged.
The driver of the vehicle parked on the side of the road said: “My car broke down and we pulled over on the side of the road with the hazards on. I was looking for help, while my boyfriend was waiting by the car. He was leaning against it, when the other vehicle hit mine. He sustained some injuries and was taken to the hospital for medical attention, but was released a few hours later.”
The Department of Community Safety, Security and Liaison spokesperson, Moeti Mmusi, confirmed the accident involving three vehicles. There were no fatalities or any serious injuries and one of the occupants was taken to hospital but released on the same day. “Investigations are under way into the cause of the accident. We are calling on motorists to drive with caution on the roads to avoid accidents.”
