WATCH: West Acres left in the dark after loud bang

Residents reported hearing a double explosion at the West Acres electrical substation in Mbombela.

Sais du Plooy posted on the Community Facebook group: “Sounded like a massive explosion at the Sub-station in West Acres. Power went off immediately! Crazy. I bet we are going to be without electricity for a long time!”

“The power went off in West Acres and there were two big explosions,” posted Casper Maré.

The City of Mbombela is on site to investigate.
