At 14:20, this afternoon a devastating truck accident took the lives of two occupants who were travelling in the direction of Mbombela after the Sudwala Caves turn off.
Emer-G-Med reported from the scene stating that the driver lost control of the vehicle and rolled down an embankment. The driver and his female passenger were transporting coal when the accident occurred.

The two sustained serious injuries and were declared dead at the scene.
“We are waiting for forensic pathology and the SAPS CSC to take over the scene, and for the fire department to extricate the two deceased,” Martin Jefferey of Emer-G-Med explained.
The westbound slow lane is currently obstructed and will be opened fully again after the recovery process is completed. Van Wettens and TRAC N4 are at the scene to assist with the recovery.
