He was granted bail of R1 000 in the Barberton Magistrate’s Court on Friday, July 11, after police were informed by the hospital that he had refused treatment following an alleged illness earlier that morning.
“The police believe that he only wanted to stay in hospital because he did not want to go back to the police cells,” confirmed Lieutenant Colonel Jabu Ndubane, the Mpumalanga police spokesperson.
