The Lowveld’s favourite family MTB event, Dust Buster #2 lived up to its name with hot and dusty conditions at Halls Farm on Sunday, September 14, where 296 riders competed various races presented by 2D Adventures.

In the senior men 55km race, Christian Smit pedalled a time of 01:42:16 to edge out Kyle Laing by two seconds.

Richardo van der Merwe and Jason Burroughs had a close tussle in the senior men 35km category. Van der Merwe crossed the finish line first in 01:18:18, with Burroughs finishing 11 seconds later.

The youngsters did not shy away from the thrilling action. In the 16km sprogs male race, Christiaan Prinsloo clocked a winning time of 00:32:21 to second-placed Tiaan Wolvaardt’s 00:32:31.

Dust Buster #3 will take place at the same venue on October 19.
