Three people lost their lives early this morning, December 1, when a minibus taxi and truck collided in a head-on collision on the R38 between Badplaas and Barberton.

The Department of Community Safety, Security and Liaison spokesperson, Moeti Mmusi, confirmed the accident, stating that two passengers in the minibus taxi and its driver were killed.

He added that an investigation to determine the cause of the accident is already under way and that three counts of culpable homicide are being investigated, as reckless driving cannot be ruled out.
