A trip on the N4 claimed the lives of two passengers earlier today, December 17, when a Toyota Fortuner and an articulated truck collided head-on on the Schoemanskloof road. The accident occurred between the Joubert en Seuns Padstal and the Viva Garage.

“The driver of the SUV was in a critical condition and was extricated and taken to Mediclinic Nelspruit for further medical treatment,” Martin Jeffrey of Emer-G-med confirmed.

He further explained that the two passengers in the SUV were both declared dead at the scene. The truck driver escaped unharmed.

Officials are currently busy with the recovery.

The SAPS and the Department of Community Safety, Security And Liaison (DCSSL) will investigate the cause of the accident.
