Mpumalangans, this is why your drink must not leave your sight this festive season

The SAPS said it is important to report any suspicious incidents you witness at events as this can save someone from falling victim.

The festive season is upon us and a lot of people will be attending various events and festivals. At some of these events there might be perpetrators who plan to spike drinks and take advantage of unsuspecting people. The SAPS is advising the public to take precautions to avoid getting their drinks spiked and falling victims to crime.

The perpetrator allegedly targets a victim by secretly spiking his or her drink and they sometimes take advantage of the vulnerable victim.

According to Mpumalanga police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Jabu Ndubane everyone must be careful. “You can’t leave your drink unattended then decide you are quickly going to the bathroom. Anyone can spike your drink.”
