NOTICE MINING PERMIT APPLICATION BASIC ASSESSMENT
PUBLIC PARTICIPATION PROCESS
Notice is hereby given of a proposed application for a Mining Permit in terms of section 27 of the Mineral and Petroleum Resources Development Act, 2002 (Act No. 28 of 2002), as amended, for the proposed borrow pit located on Portion 1 of the Farm Wanhoop 485-JU, near Steenbok, Nkomazi Local Municipality, Mpumalanga Province. The borrow pit will provide G6 material for the rehabilitation of Road D2950 from Steenbok to Road D797. Central coordinates: 2543`35″S, 3151`48″ E.
The proposed activity entails establishing and operating a borrow pit to extract G6 material. Listing Notice 1, Activity 21 is applicable, and the project requires a Mining Permit from the Department of Mineral Resources and Energy before any mining activity may commence.
