NOTICE PUBLIC PARTICIPATION PROCESS
Basic Environmental Impact Assessment and Water Use Licensing process (WUL) for the proposed camping facilities within Nkomazi Game Reserve near Tjakastad, Albert Luthuli Local Municipality, Mpumalanga
Notice is hereby given, in terms of Section 41 of the Environmental Impact Assessment Regulations of 2014, (as amended in 2017) read with the National Environmental Management Act, 1998 (Act No. 107 of 1998) (NEMA) of the following: Nkomazi Game Reserve is proposing to establish four camps, accommodating five camping sites each. Each camp is proposed with a footprint of approximately 1Ha and located on portion 0 of Nkomazi 722-JT, at the following coordinates:
Camp 1: 2556`48.70″S 3045`50.00″E,
Camp 2: 2556`33.70″S 3046`0.80″E,
Camp 3: 2557`22.00″S 3046`5.80″E,
Camp 4: 2557`35.64″S 3045`50.95″E,
Camp 5: 2556`56.97″S 3045`25.79″E
The proposed activities require Environmental Authorisation (EA) and WUL in accordance with the NEMA 107 of 1998, and NWA 36, of 1998 and therefore application will be submitted to the Department of Forestry, Fisheries and Environment (DFFE) as well as the IUCMA for consideration.
