Malema, Zuma and the Chinaman’s finger

With the whole country being fed more than its daily dose of pre-election news and titbits in recent months, it is strange to see how easily the real worrying issues are placed on the back burner.

Many a South African and misguided youth might look at the antics and sweeping statements of ousted Ancyl commander-in-chief and new commander-in-chief of the EFF, Mr Julius Malema, as a joke and something to smile and laugh about over a braai.

Apparently he even made a trip out to Mashishing this week to promise houses, land and a better life for all.

But what many don’t realise, is that his party’s policies are wholly racially based and the exact recipe that will cause disaster for the private sector in this country.

It is easy for him to pick up votes from the frustrated youths that have been let down by the ANC government, but with his less-than-desirable track record as a politician, and even worse record as an alleged criminal fraudster, his rule will be no better than that of the current number one, Mr Jacob Zuma.

At least, Malema shows up to his promised meetings. Residents waiting to drink some of the fresh water of the De Hoop Dam are still waiting on JZ to find time in his busy schedule to cut a ribbon and let them drink.

While the ANC and EFF bicker over whose leader is the best – and throw the occasional traditional stone to prove it while wearing their fashionably irrelevant red berets, the country is being crippled and the residents robbed of more tax money to waste.

And not to sound like a prophet of doom, but the finger of the communist Chinese is placed firmly over the pulse of Africa and if we aren’t careful, we might make promises that our natural tourism destinations, our wealth of wildlife and endangered species and economic growth won’t be able to keep.
