Modikwa Platinum Mine warns Tubatse and surrounding communities to be vigilant about the scourge of job scams and bribery in the area.
It has come to our attention that certain individuals are contacting people to offer fictitious job opportunities at the mine at a cost. The public should take note that such practices are nothing more than scams intended to defraud people of their hard-earned money.
Modikwa follows a tried and tested recruitment process whereby jobs are advertised via print, electronically and also on the website. The mine also distributes vacancy lists to local tribal offices and press. Any advertisement can be verified via our HR/ careers section. A cellphone number will never be used as the primary contact number.
We encourage residents to be vigilant should they encounter individuals who allege to be recruiting on behalf of Modikwa Mine, and report it to our whistle-blow hotline on 0800-006-792.
Modikwa Mine takes this matter very seriously and is working with the appropriate legal authorities to bring these fraudsters to book.
It is important for the public to remember that these scams will continue as long as there are people willing to pay for a job opportunity, be it real or fictitious. Therefore, as a matter of principle, the mine appeals to residents to refrain from doing this.
