The only goal in the much-anticipated encounter came after 70-minutes of missed opportunities from both sides.

Mdladla Peace Maker were denied taking the lead when one of their attackers found the back of the net.The goal was disallowed as the offside flag had already been raised when it was scored.

Throughout the encounter Blackburn United were in the defensive, fending off attacks and fighting for ball possession.

Mancoba Mathaba was rewarded for his skilful footwork when he managed to enter the 18-yard area and force a silly mistake out of defenders to put the ball in the goal box.

Meanwhile, Schoemansdal Junior Aces and Driekoppies Barcelona provided football supporters with a thrilling 3-2 loser’s final encounter.

Barcelona grabbed the lead from the onset when they were awarded an early penalty, which goalkeeper Musa Ndlela being kept out on the first try, but they couldn’t do much about the rebound.

Barcelona found their second goal of the match minutes before the half-time interval.

When the second stanza got underway Junior Aces had regrouped and began to dominate the middle of the field.

Junior Aces striker, Walter Shongwe, then put them back into the game.

He provided excellent cross balls into Barcelona’s box from the left flank, just exposing Barcelona long enough to allow Junior Aces to reduce the goal deficit to one.

Ten minutes after opening the scoreboard, Junior Aces were rewarded for their relentless attack on Barcelona’s goal post, by finding the equalizing goal, bringing the score line to 2-2.

Junior Aces owner and coach, Mr Douglas Shongwe, was not content with the two-all score and pushed his players on to find the third and decisive goal of the encounter.

Junior Aces immerged victorious with 3-2 at full-time.
