Young rider improves to keep lead in Das Auto MTB Series
James Goosen was the fastest man over 25 kilometres. He needed only 00:58:34 to win, improving on his previous time of 00:59:29.
Penryn’s Cross Country Circuit again hosted the Das Auto MTB Series on Saturday. It was the second leg of the popular mountain-biking event which drew 246 participants on the day.
Liam de Klerk was the fastest over 50 kilometres in a time of 01:54:03. He was followed by Nohan van Tonder with 01:57:57 with Igna de Villiers finishing third overall. Ed Ferreira (01:59:51) and Burger Bester (02:01:19) completed the top-five positions.
Santie van der Westhuizen was the fastest female over the distance, crossing the finish line in 02:29:57. Ruth le Roux’s 02:33:05 placed her second with Ananda Bosch third in a time of 02:36:44.

James Goosen was the fastest man over 25 kilometres. He needed only 00:58:34 to win, improving on his previous time of 00:59:29. Blessing Moima was second in 01:00:51 followed by Greg Gulle in 01:03:03. Corné Ferreira’s 01:06:02 placed him fourth overall, with Johan van Zyl fifth with 01:07:27.

Among the women Janet Starbuck ended overall first in 01:12:01. Joy Gulle followed with 01:18:40 and Sharon Bell in a time of 01:19:16.

Jooste Coetzee won the 15 kilometre fun run. His time of 00:41:48 put him over the finish ahead of Wihan de Hanie (00:44:04) and Banjamin Vacha (00:45:51). They were followed by Waldo Potgieter in 00:46:08 and Walter Siriti in 00:46:24.
Jayde Clarke was the fastest female with 00:48:51. Megan Wiehman followed in 00:49:10 with Jessica Svacha ending third in 00:54:42.
