Enjoy a scenic race on the town’s outskirts
Runners can look forward to the annual Mozma's race next weekend hosted by the Legogote Villagers.
Enjoy a morning outdoors and challenge yourself at the Mozma’s five-, 10- and 21-kilometre race. It will be hosted by the Legogote Villagers on July 18 from 07:00.
It starts at the White River Rugby Club and takes the runners out among the smallholdings on the town’s outskirts. It is an out-and-back route with half being run on tar and the other half on dirt. It is a challenging event with uphills and downhills all the way and Legogote Mountain is visible at various spots.
The race is well organised with good water points. Grandmasters enjoy free entry. Walkers are welcome. Category winners will receive prizes and all finishers will receive a medal.
This year there is a R1 000 cash prize if the previous record is broken by the first man or woman on the 21 kilometre. Medals will be awarded to all finishers in the five-kilometre event and schoolchildren are encouraged to join.
Entries will be accepted the day before, from 17:00 to 18:30 at the White River Rugby Club. Late entries can be done from 05:00 on the day of the race.
Random finishers of the 10 and 21 kilometre will receive one of 200 T-shirts.
