Penryn’s sport-science pupils learn from the best in the field
On Friday the physiotherapist of the Pumas Rugby Union, Luzahn Louw presented a sport-injury strapping session at Penryn College sport-science department.
“We present a sport-injury strapping course each year to give the sport- science pupils the opportunity to assist with injuries during sport events. Therefore we as a school can give a better support system to our athletes if they get injured, especially with the winter sport that recently kicked off. A big thanks to the Pumas Rugby Union and Louw for your time and effort,” said Gunther Swart from Penryn.
Two pupils of Penryn will have the opportunity to shadow Louw during an upcoming Currie Cup match.
The sport-science group will also visit the High Performance Centre in Pretoria where they will learn more on sport psychology biokinetics, physiotherapy and sport testing.
They will also visit Loftus Versfeld, home of the Blue Bulls and watch some of their teams in action.
