The weekend produces our Selati Cup final four
The last four teams in the running for the Selati Cup will battle it out on the soccer field this weekend.
The stage is set for the coveted 2016 RCL Selati Cup soccer tournament semi-finals and finals. Soon the new champions will be crowned.
This follows the weekend’s quarter-final clashes at Naas Stadium on Sunday, which produced the last four teams left in the running for the popular Selati Cup trophy.
Sambo Block B were the first to reserve their position in the semi-finals when they took on Dreikoppies Celtics.
They outclassed and outplayed Driekoppies Celtics 3-1 and will now face Mashaba United, who play much the same type of game as Sambo do.
Mashaba United defeated the competitive Mbuzini Junior Pirates, when they narrowly escaped with a 2-1 scoreline.
Block A Naughty Boys were also back in action against Buffelspruit All Blacks in a nail-biting match.
Naughty Boys made sure they would be in the next round when they pulled off a 3-2 score, and will go on to face Mananga Royal City.
To also be included in the final four, Mananga Royal City shattered KaMhlushwa Real Madrid’s hopes of continuing in the tourney, trashing them 2-0.
RCL Foods’ Mr Kenneth Phiri expressed his appreciation that there had been no violence at the stadium. “The games are proceeding well and have been all along. We have been experiencing some exciting and trilling football which has been a joy to watch throughout the duration of the tournament. As we approach the final of the Selati Cup, things are heating up in both the men’s and women’s tournaments,” Phiri said.
