Mothosolo, Wiid reign champions
Former pupil of Hoërskool Nelspruit, Madri Wiid claimed the Definition Athletics Club (DAC) 2-in-1 road race title on Saturday with a time of 01:31:55.

The 2017 Sudwala Screaming Monster title holder in the 10-kilometre race, Nkomazi’s Nomvula Sithole, who was leading the race over the first 14 kilometres, had to make way for Wiid, who took gold.
Sithole crossed the finish line in 01:37.
“This was my first local race. Nomvula most of the time was 300 metres ahead of me, but as soon as the downhill run back to the stadium started, I managed to take the lead. I am currently training for cross-country season. I was very happy with my performance on Saturday,” said Wiid.
As expected, LVCC’s golden runner, William Mothosolo, took top honours as he was the first runner to cross the finish line. It was a head-to-head battle between Samule Manamela, Emmanuel Kekane and Mothosolo.
Mothosola eventually managed to break away in the last metres of the race and won with a time of 01:11:12. Manamela placed second, just seconds later with a time of 01:11:16.
Run/Walk for Life’s Prince Ndlovu won the 10-kilometre race in 32:55 with Curro Nelspruit’s start athlete, Asher Biggs hot on his heels in second with a time of 34:13.
Young Emmaracia Masina of DAC was the first female to finish the 10-kilometre in a time of 45:55.
Lowveld Canoe Club’s Allison Hay came in second in 47:39 and the Lowveld’s top Comrades female runner, Manda Gomes, placed third (48:50).
