Budding chess masters set sights on City of Gold

Allan Phiri walked away with the winning trophy for u/18 and u/20 players with a ratio of 4,5/5 during the De Goede Top 20 Chess Tournament held at Tshwane University of Technology under the auspices of Ehlanzeni Chess.

This is a prestige tournament which is a rated and merit event. The top 10 chess players in each age group who will represent Ehlanzeni at the South African Junior Chess Championships (SAJCC) next year in Johannesburg, will soon be finalised.

André de Goede from De Goede Finance Universe, who has been sponsoring the event for over 25 years, enables players the opportunity to prove themselves to be selected for the SAJCC teams.
