Norway beckons for local soccer stars
Three local soccer players have been included in the Jomo Cosmos u/15 academy squad that will travel to Norway in June.

Lowveld High School’s Bruce Mgiba (15) and Lwandisa Chiloane (14), and Katlego Moela (14) of Hoërskool Bergvlam were amazed when their names were called out at the final trials.
The widely advertised Jomo Cosmos Academy trials were rounded up late in October at the Vosloorus Stadium.

A large turnout saw hundreds of young soccer players from far and wide converging on Ezenkosi’s home ground to showcase their talents. At the end of the two-day exercise, several outstanding players scaled the hurdle to qualify for the second and final phase of screening.
The local boys are members of STAM soccer development agency which is owned by Kudakwashe Kasunzuma and Wonderboy Myanga.
It is a newly formed development in Mbombela. The academy opened in September.

“Our aim is to develop young players’ tactical, technical, physical and psychological abilities in football. We want to give them the exposure they need so that they can reach the highest level in football,” said Kasunzuma.
Bruce said the film Shaolin Soccer inspired him to play the world’s most popular sport.
“I would love to play for Orlando Pirates or Real Madrid from abroad. It will be a dream come true to not only represent my country but also to start for one of the best clubs in Spain. I often listen to Cristiano Renaldo’s motivational quotes on YouTube.”

Teammate Lwandisa said he not only wants to watch famous players such as Neymar Da Silva Santos Jr on TV, but wants to be one of the players on the field.
“I want to play with these guys one day. Only then will I fulfil my dream.”
