Nedbank’s Ntuthuko Maseko won his third straight title at the Sudwala Screaming Monster on Saturday, clocking one hour
14 minutes and 32 seconds in the 21-kilometre road race.
It was a personal best time for the race.

Silver medalist Hlatswayo Mduduzi set off at a fast pace, opening up a gap of 30 seconds over Maseko as they came down. But Maseko caught Mduduzi as they headed back to the finish line.

Anna Galle won the women’s race in 1:38,10 ahead of Chantal Middel-Bovee who ran a 1:45,37, while Run Walk 4 Life’s Madeleine Whitehair finished third in 1:47,35.

LowMed’s Samuel Mathabata clocked the fastest time over the 10-kilometre route at the Sudwala Screaming Monster, claiming his first win on Lowveld soil.

He finished the race in 32 minutes and 18 seconds.

Run Walk 4 Life’s Prince Ndlovu crossed the finish line in second place more than three minutes ahead of Remember Ndimande, who came third with a time of 35:34.

Nelspruit Marathon Club’s Velile Mbuli and Nelly Khoza dominated the 10-kilometre flat route, placing first and second in 48:38 and 50:10 respectively. Irene Hatch rounded off the podium in 50:22.
LowMed’s Folavio Sehohle had to pull out of the race due to a knee injury he picked up during training the previous day.

He will compete in the Selati Marathon, in which he hopes to qualify for the South African championships that will take place in July.
Abednico Mashaba, also of LowMed, will also be in action in Malalane. Mashaba will most probably run in the SAs in Port Elizabeth.

• 2016 – 1:19,55
• 2017 – 1:19,20
• 2018 – 1:14,32.
