Pumas want to keep foot on the pedal

The north section of the SuperSport Challenge saw a third consecutive win for the iCollege Pumas. This time they beat the Windhoek Draught Welwitschias in Windhoek 54-12.

They scored no less than seven tries (and a penalty try) to ease into a comfortable win in the Hage Geingob Stadium. Both debutants, Henko Marais and Jeandré Rudolph dotted down for the visiting side.

“It was a decent win against a much better Namibian team. We started the game very well. We left a fair amount of points on the field. There was a basic-error rate after half-time and we made silly mistakes out our own half. All in all lots of improvement,” said head coach of the Pumas Brent Janse van Rensburg.

The Pumas will face the Hino Valke this coming Saturday at Mbombela Stadium who were pipped 12-68 by the Xerox Golden Lions XV.

“We need to use this week to keep our foot on the pedal and we will have to remain humble. We urge the community to come out and support our men.”
