It was survival of the fittest during the boys hockey play-offs these past weekends. Various provincial teams competed and the tournaments took place over two weekends. The first games were on June 9 and second were on June 16.
They were played at Uplands College, Penry College, Curro Nelspruit and Hoërskool Nelspruit.
The top schools play-offs comprise of the top three schools per league, Gert Sibande, Nkangala and Ehlanzeni.

The teams are divided into two pools and then compete against one another to qualify for the Mpumalanga semi-finals. The top two teams of the pools will then play against each other in a semi-final after which the two winners will compete for the Mpumalanga trophy.

Only one school in the Lowveld will play in the semi-finals, although not all the teams participated in the tournament. The semi-finals will be played on July 21 at Hockey Farm Witbank and Curro Bankenveld.

U/16
Pool A: Hoërskool Secunda U/15 vs Penryn College
Pool B: Hoërskool Middelburg vs HTS Witbank
U/19
Pool A: HTS Middelburg vs Hoërskool Oosterland
Pool B: Hoërskool Middelburg vs Hoërskool Secunda.
