Dancers get first taste of IFAA
Athletes of Surané's Dancing Academy (SDA) took home quite a few trophies at the recent International Fine Arts Association (IFAA) Dance Award competition which took place in Middelburg this past weekend.

It was the academy’s first taste of the IFAA.
Jozanne Munnik and Olga Erasmus placed first in ballet, while teammate Kayle du Plessis also returned with a gold medal in the contemporary category.
Olga, who competed in the 15 to 18 years age group, also took to the podium with her first place in contemporary, with a percentage of 91,95 per cent. She was also presented as the trophy winner in her age category.
In the 11 to 14 years modern category, Jozanne was not only awarded overall performance, technique and costume but she was also named trophy winner.
Coach Surané Coetzer said that she could not be prouder of her students.
“We made a clean sweep in the contemporary, ballet and modern sections. We also received numerous special awards, especially for choreography.”
Members of the studio will leave for Johannesburg soon to compete in the South African Championships as well as in the finals of the South African Talent Championship in October.
SDA will host a very spectacular showcase open to the public on November 29 and 30 at the civic centre – a performance not to be missed.
