Temilton represented his school in sevens and first team rugby. At the Mpumalanga Athletic championships he received a gold medal, whereafter he competed at the South African Junior Championships and the South African School Champs. He placed outside the top 10 in both meetings.

When Tiaan van der Walt, a grade 12 pupil, started at Curro, it was clear that this teen was born for squash. He won the first league Lowveld squash open, played in the Mpumalanga squash open and won the tournament for the eighth time in a row. As a result, he was presented with the extramural sports trophy of the year.
