The visitors won three of the four matches, two by large margins, but lost the all-important first team game.
The first team rugby match was a fantastic display of rugby, played in the spirit that schoolboy rugby should be played. Scrumhalf Gino Marsh gave the home team an early lead when he jinked through the Curro defence to score in the right-hand corner.
Curro loose-forward Rhyn Fourie scored for his team, and the try was converted by centre Lunga Ngwenyama to give the visitors a two-point half-time lead.Thabang Mawela came off the bench and, when Bergvlam were awarded a penalty early in the second half, was given the responsibility for the kick.

It was not a perfect strike but he put the ball between the uprights from 25 metres out to regain the lead for his team.
Bergvlam flanker, Jaco Botha scored the final try of the match. His forwards won a tight-head scrum on their opponents’ five-metre line. Botha broke off the side of the scrum to score and secure a 13-7 victory.
Both schools showed their flair on the hockey field. The home school’s girls won two matches, lost one and drew one. Although the first team match did not produce any goals, it was a thriller, with both sides showing strong defence.
Curro’s u/14s were in fine form, netting six goals to Vlammies’ zero.
